The adapter connects to the binocular using a waterproof ODU Mini-Snap connection that is specifically designed for a solid and secure connection that won't come unplugged accidentally. Power comes from the binocular to help reduce the adapter's weight to a mere 0.4 ounces, and utilizes Bluetooth 4.1 for a range of 5.5 yards to the LiNK-enabled device. To withstand similar environmental conditions to the binocular, Steiner made the adapter waterproof to a depth of 16 feet.
