FN utilizes the same proprietary high grade Chrome Moly Venadium steel used in FN machine gun barrels produced to handle the punishment of sustained full auto fire. Each barrel is MPI tested to ensure that it is free of micro-stresses of flaws resulting in consistent, quality barrels. The bore and chamber are chrome lined which improves barrel life and reliable chambering and extraction. The barrel has M4 style feed ramps to provide consistent feeding. They are finished in matte black manganese phosphate.
